S3 Power Sports – HD Springs
S3145 / S3146 / S3147
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1.) Start by placing UTV on flat solid ground and shift machine to the “park” position.
2.) Lift the front or rear of the machine with a floor jack. Place jack stands under the machine to
secure. Block tires to prevent any rolling.
3.) Start by loosening the nuts from the bolts on the top and bottom of the shock.
4.) Remove shock to prepare to spring removal.
5.) Use a spring compression tool to compress the spring enough to remove the spring retainer.
6.) Once you remove the retainer, you can slide the factory spring off the shock and prepare to
install the HD spring.
7.) Use the spring compressor again to compress the HD spring. Once compressed the
appropriate amount, slide the factory shock through the end of the spring.
8.) Place the retainer on the end of the spring and begin to release the tension on the HD Spring.
Maintain proper placement of the retainer so the HD Spring stays in place.
9.) Replace the shocks into position and bolt back into the machine.
10.)
Repeat the process for the other end of the machine.
Springs & Fitments
2020+ Defender Lonestar, Defender CAB, Defender Limited, and Defender XMR
models require (4) of the same sized springs all the way around the machine. They
also use (2) of the 11162 spacers on the back springs on top of the spring.
2020+ Defender HD10, HD10XT, and Defender Pro models require (2) Front Springs
and (2) Rear Springs. They also require (2) Small retainers (11270) on the bottom of
the front springs. They also require (2) of the larger spacers (11162) on the top of the
rear springs.
2020+ Defender 6×6 Models require (2) Front Springs and (4) Rear Springs. They also
require (2) Small retainers (11270) on the bottom of the front springs. They also
require (4) of the larger spacers (11162) on the top of the rear springs.
2019 Defender Lonestar, Defender CAB, and Defender XMR models require (4) of the
same sized springs all the way around the machine.
2018 Defender Lonestar, Defender CAB, and Defender XMR models require (2) Front
springs and (2) Rear springs. The small spacer provided (11133) goes on the shock
body side of the spring on the front shocks.

All other model Defenders require (2) fronts and (2) rear springs. There will be a “F” or
a “R” notating orientation.
2013-2017 model rangers (including 570 Full Size models), 2018 Ranger 1000 Crews
and 2019 Ranger 900’s require (2) fronts and (2) rears. There will be a “F” or a “R”
notating orientation.
NEW body style Rangers require (2) Fronts and (2) Rears and a billet retainer (11331)
that goes on the TOP of the rear Shocks.
